BELBÈZE-EN-COMMINGES Haute-Garonne, France.

The quarries of Belbèeze were exploited in Roman times and, notably, furnished the small stone ashlar which revetted the Roman rampart of Toulouse. Above the quarries, on the summit of Pédegas-d'en-Haut, G. Manière has found and excavated a hilltop sanctuary which was also a fountain-head shrine. The cult seems to have lasted from the 1st to the 4th c. A.D.
